A 35-year-old man was shot yesterday morning by one of two masked men who attempted to rob him in Charlotte Street, Bourda, police said.
According to a release from the police Wesson Hinds was reportedly targeted by the two masked men at around 9:40 yesterday morning.
The police said that one of the men, armed with a handgun, was the pillion rider on a motorcycle, details of which, including registration number, type, and colour, remain unknown. Hinds was reportedly standing on Charlotte Street opposite the Truth Power, Glory and Sanctuary Church, facing north when the suspects approached from the south on the motorcycle. The pillion rider disembarked, demanded Hinds’ belongings, asking if he ‘get anything’ and without delay, discharged a round from the handgun, hitting him in his left upper thigh, the police release said..
Subsequently, the suspects fled on the motorcycle.
The victim is receiving medical treatment at the Georgetown Public Hospital with his condition reported as stable.
Investigations continue.
