A new winner will be crowned in the Milo Secondary Schools U-18 Football Championship, as defending champion Santa Rosa were eliminated, losing 0-1 to Charlestown Secondary yesterday at the Ministry of Education ground, Carifesta Avenue.

Needing only a draw to secure a place in the elimination segment, the Region #1 outfit were sent packing via a Dilshawn Alleyne second half conversion in the 66th minute.

Meanwhile, fellow Region #1 outfit, Waramuri, dispatched President’s College 2-0. Rondell Peters and Odell Holmes scored in the 46th and 53rd minutes, respectively.

Over at the Queen’s College (QC) ground on Thomas Lands, Abram Zuil squeaked past North Ruimveldt 3-2. The trio of Jeraldo Culpepper, Omar Kendall, and Eron Benjamin scored in the 23rd, 35th, and 55th minutes, respectively. On target in the loss were Jeremiah Moore and Darnel Sealey in the first and 52nd minutes, respectively.

On the other hand, South Ruimveldt thumped L’Aventure 5-1. Mark Phillips bagged a brace in the second and fifth minutes, while Seon Grant, Devonte Gaim, and Jadia Shortt scored in the 10th, 65th, and 69th minutes, respectively.
