The Guyana Sugar Corporation (GuySuCo) notes with serious concern a full page article in today’s (April 8, 2024) edition of the Guyana Times Newspaper on page 13, “Spraying Bath canals with weedicide for overgrowth destroys millions in crops”, alleging that GuySuCo is responsible for the damage caused. The Blairmont Estate wishes to inform all and sundry that chemical application has not been undertaken close to this location where the farmers are claiming to have experienced losses. The Corporation views this article as misleading and urges the media to practice due diligence before publishing this type of information.
