Mahadeo dethroned as Englishman Dutton captures the crown

Defending champion and experienced campaigner Dillon Mahadeo was deposed, as George Dutton of England won the men’s Rx division in the Kares CrossFit Caribbean Championship on Sunday at the National Park tarmac, Thomas Lands. 

Mahadeo had to settle for third place with a final score of 450, as Dutton and compatriot Omisi Williams secured the top two positions.

Dutton ended up with a score of 470 at the end of the two days. He finished the Fire-Drill section with 90 points, the Inverted Flame challenge with 100 points, and the Greater Heights task with 95 points to secure the title.

On the other hand, Mahadeo scored 95 on the fire drill, 95 on the inverted flame, and 85 on the Greater Heights. Meanwhile, Williams finished the fire drill with a score of 100, the inverted flame challenge with 90 points, and the Greater Heights drill with 90 points.

Rounding out the top four was Christopher Henery with a score of 433, while Bryant Snaggs of Trinidad and Tobago, Kellon Reid, Timothy McAndrew, and Demron Thompson of Barbados secured fifth, sixth, seventh, and eight positions, respectively, with scores of 418, 303, 299, and 288 apiece.

In the women’s Rx segment, Bryleigh Hansen of the United States of America emerged victorious with a total of 485 points at the conclusion of the tournament. Finishing in second place was Ava Zalman of Suriname with 470 points, while Heather Dudson of the USA rounded out the top three with a score of 460.

Delice Adonis was the highest-finishing Guyanese athlete in the segment with 435 points, which earned her fourth place. Patiqua Cooper of the Bahamas and Guyanese Dashawna Williams finished fifth and sixth, respectively, with 400 and 230 points apiece.

Hansen scored 95, 100, and 95 points apiece on the Fire-Drill, Inverted Flame, and Greater Height challenges, respectively.

Her nearest challenger, Zalman of Suriname, scored 100, 95, and 90 apiece on the Fire-Drill, Inverted Flame, and Greater Heights sections, while Hudson recorded 85, 90, and 100 points apiece in the Fire-Drill, Inverted Flame, and Greater Heights sections.

Adonis tallied 90, 85, and 85 in the Fire-Drill, Inverted Flame, and Greater Heights challenges. 

In the U21 section, Haresh Rameshwar prevailed with a score of 480, while Kevin Rameshwar and Vladimir Woodroffe tallied 475 and 380 points apiece to round out the top three in that order.
