Police yesterday said the body of a man, who is reportedly a vagrant, was found early yesterday morning in a trench at 10th Field, Cummings Lodge East Coast Demerara.
The man, who was only identified as Saray, is of East Indian descent and was found lying on his left side, clad in a gray jersey and long blue jeans, partially underwater.
According to the police Emergency Medical Tech-nicians from the Central Fire Service responded, and the victim was pronounced dead by Dr. Etwaroo of the George-town Public Hospital Corporation.
Police processed the scene and they examined the body for marks of violence; none were seen.
The man’s body is currently at the Memorial Gardens mortuary awaiting identification and post-mortem examination.
