As part of its efforts to educate the public about fire safety, ranks from the Guyana Fire Service (GFS) attached to the Linden Fire Station yesterday engaged in an initiative to promote fire safety within the town.
They conducted a series of visits, inspections, and awareness sessions at several key locations.
Firstly, they engaged with the staff of Kwakwani Hospital, emphasising the importance of fire safety protocols and procedures. The aim of this educational outreach was to empower individuals within the hospital to effectively respond to fire emergencies and prevent potential disasters.
The GFS team then visited the Hururu Health Center and Primary School, followed by the Kwakwani Board of Industrial Training, where they conducted similar activities.
By sensitising students and staff members, the GFS aims to foster a culture of vigilance and preparedness, while ensuring that these vital community institutions are well-equipped to handle fire-related incidents.
It is the intention of the Linden Fire Station to continue to demonstrate its commitment to safeguarding the town against fire risks, through these outreach efforts.
