Dear Editor,
The Ministry of Housing and Water has always been portrayed in a negative way by some. However, social media posts from the ministry paints a vastly different picture.
Having been to the ministry myself, the process isn’t that one which is gruesome, it’s just each office has a system and protocol in place which we should adhere to and follow if we want a system to truly work. In the last week or so, the Ministry has introduced quite a number of new designs for the young professionals’ homes along with their prices. Many have commented, ‘oh, it is not affordable’, and I can understand that truly some may not be able to afford such houses, but if you go to a hardware store and check the prices for materials, you’d realize the prices for those beautiful houses are not bad as if you were to construct a house with the exact design.
I believe Ministers’ Croal and Rodriques are truly hardworking people who seem to always be on the go. Additionally, the hardworking persons at the ministry needs to be recognized for the work that they do. Many will say you have to know someone to get a piece of land or something, my advice is to be patient if you’ve applied, try to go into the ministry and check on your applications (it’s in your interest). The PPP/C has been demonstrating that they are serving us, the people, and we need to remind ourselves that great things takes time to achieve. The Ministry of Housing is on a great path and deserves more recognition!
Sincerely,
Tanya Mohabir
