In an intelligence-led operation, police from Regional Division #2 found a .32 pistol with six live rounds in an unoccupied house at Back Street, Little Red Village, Onderneeming Sand Pit, Essequibo Coast.
According to a police press release, acting on information received, on Friday around 17:30 hrs, ranks conducted a search of an unpainted, unoccupied wooden house at Back Street.
During the search, they unearthed a FN Browning .32 pistol with a filed-off serial number, a magazine containing six live rounds of .32 ammunition, and a pair of green and gray construction gloves hidden under a zinc sheet inside the house, the release stated.
The recovered items were secured at the station for further investigation. Despite processing the firearm for latent fingerprints, no matches were found, the release said. The police have not made any arrests in connection with this discovery. Investigations are ongoing.
