The Guyana Police Association (GPA) held outreaches in Police Regional Division #6 between April 10 and 12 to listen to the concerns of ranks and find workable solutions.
According to a police press release, the GPA team held sessions at the Zara Computer Centre at Central Police Station, New Amsterdam, Berbice and at each sub-division. Discussions focused on the GPA’s purpose, benefits, objectives and history, the release said. The team also spoke on what was expected of ranks and testimonials were given, it added.
The team was led by Woman Inspector Benjamin and comprised GPA Vice Chairman Inspector Bacchus, Camacho, Fields, Davis, Hamilton, and Gobin, the release said. Guyana and Trinidad Mutual (GTM) Insurance Executive Consultant Wazir Khan, who also accompanied the team, highlighted the benefits of the Group Health Insurance plan and engaged ranks on the GTM Medical Scheme and its benefits, it added.
Ranks were advised by the GPA team to maintain discipline and take advantage of the training opportunities offered by the Guyana Police Force. Two hundred police ranks attended the sessions, the release said.
Commander of Regional Division #6 Senior Superintendent Bacchus expressed his gratitude for the visit.
