A pork knocker was on Sunday night stabbed to death by a friend following a heated argument at a shop in 5 Miles, Arakaka, North West District.
According to the police, Trevor Hilliman, of Lot 14 Public Road, Pouderoyen, West Bank Demerara, was knifed to death at Jonnel Gaskin’s Shop at around 11 pm on Sunday by a 42-year-old miner from 5 Miles Arakaka, North West District.
Police investigations have so far revealed that that the suspect and the victim are known to each other. On the day of the incident the suspect was passing on the main access road when the victim called him and the two began imbibing.
After a while, a heated argument ensued, and the suspect pulled out a knife from the waist of his pants and dealt the victim a stab to the left side of his chest.
The police were contacted and on arrival, the suspect, who was still on the scene, was pointed out, and he was cautioned and arrested. He remains in custody.
The victim’s body was then escorted to the Port Kaituma hospital mortuary, awaiting a post- mortem examination.
The investigation continues.
