Dear Editor,
The Gas to Energy (GtE) project’s commercial arrangements have been finalized. The Hansards record the government’s undertaking for these documents to be laid in the National Assembly. When will the Office of the Prime Minister release into the public domain the following information as recorded in the Hansards and/or requested directly:
• An expenditure account of the start-up sum of $24.6B?
• An expenditure account of last year’s budget allotment of $43.3B?
• A proposed expenditure account of this year’s budget allocation of $80B?
• An account of any other monies that have been expended or plan to be expended on the GtE project?
• What works do the contracts signed in 2023 cover?
• Indicate if the contracts signed in 2023 for the GtE project are additional expenditure to GoG?
• What are the dollar values of these contracts?
• Are the 2023 contracts with GoG or subcontracts of CH4-Lindsayca?
When will the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment release into the public domain the following information as recorded in the Hansards and/or requested directly:
• The Gas Sales Agreement?
• All other commercial documents?
• Is the pipeline project still on budget to the approximate sum of US$1.1B?
• Expected date of the implementation of the National Gas Leak Management Plan and/or National Gas Integrity Plan?
It is hoped that we, the beneficiaries of the oil and gas patrimony, will be graced with the human rights of adequate information along with access to information and not have to continue to be dealt with in the arena of non-disclosure.
Sincerely,
Elizabeth Deane-Hughes
