The Guyana Harpy Eagles trail the Combined Campuses and Colleges Marooners by a mere 86 runs when round seven of the Cricket West Indies (CWI) Four-Day Championship commenced yesterday at the Sir Frank Worrell Memorial Ground, Trinidad and Tobago.
The Guyanese sit on 114/1 after dismissing the Marooners for 200 in 55.5 overs, with Raymond Perez unbeaten on 61 and Kevlon Anderson undefeated on 27. Tagenarine Chanderpaul was dismissed for 12.
Guyana’s dominant position was engineered by their bowling lineup, as Nial Smith was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 3-42, while the experienced Veerasammy Permaul snared 3-51. Chipping in with figures of 2-40 and 2-45, respectively, were Gudakesh Motie and Isai Thorne.
