Minister of Home Affairs, Robeson Benn, yesterday conducted a follow-up visit to the site of the Stabroek Market Wharf collapse. During his visit, he was briefed on the progress of clearing and rubble removal efforts from Wednesday’s collapse.
A release from the ministry said that Benn emphasised the importance of safety measures for all workers involved in the cleanup operations. He underlined the necessity of proper attire, including safety wear, gloves, helmets, and appropriate footwear, to ensure the well-being of all individuals engaged in the task.
Benn further directed the ranks of the Guyana Police Force and the Mayor and City Council to take control of the site, ensuring the smooth and organised execution of cleanup operations.
