A Bare Root family is mourning the loss of their son after he complained of dizziness, diarrhoea and vomiting. This illness is yet to be determined.
Malachi Mosely, a 14-year-old of Bare Root, East Coast Demerara, and student of Buxton Secondary, died on Thursday afternoon at about 15.30 hours at the Dr. CC Nicolson Hospital in Nabaclis, East Coast Demerara, after experiencing bouts of diarrhoea, dizziness, and vomiting.
Mosely’s sister, Ashanti Phillip, told Stabroek News that her brother related on Monday that he was having diarrhoea, and as a result, he did not attend school. The family was not alarmed at the time. On Tuesday, the diarrhoea was accompanied by vomiting, dizziness, and pain in the abdomen. Despite being ill, Mosely assisted in doing his chores as normal but was forced to retire to bed when the symptoms intensified.
