Mon Repos housewife charged over narcotics

Chandrawattie Ghianchan, a 36-year-old housewife, of Lot 938 Pump Road, Mon Repos, East Coast Demerara, was charged yesterday with possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking.

Ghianchan appeared at the Sparendaam Magistrate’s Court 2, before Magistrate Abigail Gibbs where the charge was read to her.

She pled not guilty and was granted bail in the sum of $35,000.

Ghianchan was allegedly found with 4.6 grammes of cocaine during a police raid on Thursday.

The matter was adjourned to May 18.
