After a shadow of doubt was cast on the running-off of the annual National Sports Commission (NSC) Three-Stage cycling race, the Guyana Cycling Federation (GCF) late last night announced that the race will be held on May 18 and 19.
The race, in its 41st staging, will be sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport following a meeting between officials of the GCF and the Ministry.
According to the GCF, “the event promises to be bigger and more thrilling than ever before, with the participation of esteemed international competitors”.
“The 3-Stage Race has long been a highlight on the sporting calendar, showcasing the best of cycling talent from both local and international arenas. With three challenging stages spread over routes across Guyana, the race offers a platform for riders to test their endurance, skill, and determination”.
The GCF further stated; “This year’s event is poised to elevate the excitement to new heights with the inclusion of renowned international cyclists, adding an extra layer of competition and prestige. Their presence will not only enhance the caliber of the race but also foster cultural exchange and camaraderie among participants from diverse backgrounds”.
The GCF is urging cyclists, spectators, and enthusiasts alike to mark their calendars for the 41st MCYS NSC 3 Stage Race and join in the excitement as the cycling fraternity converges in Guyana.
