Speightland, Platinum, and Pro Ballers recorded comfortable wins in the women’s and men’s divisions, respectively, when the King and Queen Beach Football Championship continued on Saturday evening at the PPP office compound in Mackenzie, Linden.
In the women’s division, Speightland mauled Rockstone 13-0. Nikita Wayne [sixth, ninth, 10th, and 12th] and Amanda McKenzie [14th, 16th, 20th, and 26th] led the rout with respective helmet tricks.
Supporting with a hat-trick in the fifth, 17th, and 24th minutes was Shenessa Cornelius, while Tennacia Williams and Lavisha Cornelius found the back of the net in the 13th and 30th minutes, respectively.
In the men’s division, Platinum mauled UDK by a 5-1 score. Isaiah Adams fashioned a five-goal blitz in the 14th, 15th, 19th, 27th, and 30th minutes.
On target for the loser was Lionel Halley in the 28th minute.
Similarly, the Pro Ballers downed the DC Ballers 3-1. The trio of Jamal Reynolds, John Reynolds, and Dani Adolph recorded conversions in the seventh, eighth, and 22nd minutes, respectively. For the loser, Zidane Ramdehol netted in the 12th minute.
Also, Chung Construction defeated Fearless 3-0. The men’s division is utilising an elimination format, while the women’s segment is using a round-robin method.
The winner of the men’s division will pocket $1,000,000 and the championship trophy, while the loser will receive $500,000 and
the respective accolade. The third and fourth-place finishers will collect $200,000 and $100,000, respectively, and the corresponding trophy.
On the women’s side, the eventual champion will pocket $400,000 and the respective accolade, while the second, third, and fourth-place finishers will receive $200,000, $100,000, and $50,000, respectively, and the corresponding trophy.
