Police in Regional Division Seven are probing the theft of four Merisolar solar panels valued at $260,000, property of the Government of Guyana.
The police said in a release yesterday that the theft is believed to have occurred between Friday, April 19th and Monday, April 22, 2024. A 27-year-old security officer of Two Miles Bartica is believed to have committed the theft at the Two Miles Primary School. He is in custody as is the alleged receiver of the stolen goods
Repairs were recently done on the school and solar panels were replaced. The old panels were stored under the school’s stairway. The police said that the school is monitored on a 24-hour basis by a security service.
