As the Guyana Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation (GBBFF) prepares to host the 51st Central America and Caribbean Fitness and Bodybuilding Championship (CAC) in October, the Ministry of Culture, Youth, and Sport (MCY&S) and the National Sports Commission (NSC) have confirmed their support for staging the event.
To this end, the executive of the GBBFF met with the Minister of Culture, Youth, and Sport, Charles Ramson Jr., along with the NSC’s Director of Sports, Steve Ninvalle.
According to a statement from the GBBFF, they had “extensive and fruitful discussions” with Minister Ramson Jr. and the Director of Sports. “Among other topical issues, the meeting was to give Ramson Jr. and Ninvalle an update on Guyana’s preparation for the marquee regional event and to discuss the official launch of CAC 2024 that will be held next month.” “In concluding the meeting, the Honourable Minister reassured the executive members of the GBBFF that the Government of Guyana is fully committed to ensuring that CAC 2024 is a resounding success and the best that the region has ever had.”
The CAC Championship is an annual event and is slated for October 17-20 later this year. The region’s top bodybuilders gather to compete for top honours.
