Joshi emerges victorious in Women’s National Chess Qualifier

Aditi Joshi was crowned the winner of the Women’s National Chess Championship Qualifier following the conclusion of the seven-round event on Sunday at the National Racquet Centre, Woolford Avenue, and Camp Street.

This was confirmed by a release from the Guyana Chess Federation. According to the correspondence, the 13-year-old Joshi, who is also the national U-14 champion, overcame the 19 other participants to finish with 6.5 points to capture the crown, in the process recording an unbeaten record of six wins and a draw.

Finishing in second place was Shazeeda Rahim with 6 points, while Ciel Clement, who drew with Joshi in their fixture, rounds out the top three with 5.5 points.
