Speightland, Young Gunners win in King and Queen Beach Football

Speightland and Young Gunners recorded comfortable wins in the women’s and men’s divisions, respectively, when the King and Queen Beach Football Championship continued yesterday at the PPP office compounds in Mackenzie, Linden.

In the women’s segment, Speightland thrashed Hururu 3-0. Shenessa Cornelius commenced the rout in the 18th minute. Cornelius then doubled her side’s advantage as she completed her brace four minutes later.

The result was sealed in the 28th minute as Nikita Wayne found the back of the net. Similarly, the Young Gunners riddled Hururu 3-0. A double strike in the first half essentially settled the outcome.

Omarion Ramsammy broke the deadlock via a fourth-minute conversion. Rodensio Tudor then made his presence felt with a ninth-minute strike. Kemar McLaren completed the victory, as he etched his name on the scorer’s sheet in the 35th minute.

Also, Rockstone and Aroaima played to a scoreless affair in the women’s segment. Up until press time, several other matches were underway.
