CJIA, police recover missing US$5,500 for passenger

The Cheddi Jagan International Airport (CJIA) Corporation yesterday announced the successful recovery of US$5,500 for passenger, Unis Cato.

A release from CJIA said that upon her arrival in Guyana on April 18, 2024, Cato reported the missing money. The CJIA security department promptly reviewed CCTV footage and identified a passenger who had picked up a package that had fallen from Cato.

The airport security team shared their findings with the Guyana Police Force, leading to the swift location of the passenger who took the money to Berbice. Following thorough questioning, the Police managed to recover the full sum of money, which was then returned to Cato.
