Guinness ‘Greatest of the Streets’ Championship
The Guinness ‘Greatest of the Streets’ Berbice leg will commence tonight at the New Amsterdam (NA) basketball court.
This was confirmed by the tournament organiser, Phillip Carrington.
According to Carrington, the opening night will feature 12 matches, which include the Round of 16 segment and the quarterfinal round.
He further disclosed that the semifinal and eventual championship fixtures will be staged at the same venue tomorrow.
In the opening match, NA Lions will oppose East Bank Gunners from 18:00hrs, while the second match will pit Ithaca against Hopetown from 18:30hrs, and Ballers United will tackle Canje from 19:00hrs.
In the fourth match, Trafalgar will lock horns with the Black Sharks at 19:30hrs, while East Bank Young Guns take aim at Futuro Boys at 20:00hrs, and Back Street Ballers oppose Paradise at 20:30hrs.
In the final two matches of the section, NA United battles the Street Warriors at 21:00hrs and the Rising Stars face off against the Big Ballers at 21:30hrs.
The resulting winners will progress to the quarterfinal section.
The winner of game one will oppose the victor of game three, while game two’s winner will battle game three’s victor. Similarly, the winner of game five will tackle the winner of game seven, while the victor of game six will oppose the victor of game eight.
