Man shot at Eccles gas station as guard rescues woman

Police are investigating a shooting incident yesterday at the Two Brothers gas station located on the Eccles Public Road, East Bank Demerara.

According to the police, the incident occurred at about 9 am yesterday and involved Stephen King, a 30-year-old unemployed man of Evan Phillips Park, Agricola, East Bank Demerara; Woolworth Williams, a 54-year-old security guard of Lot 63 New Road, Vreed-en-Hoop, West Bank Demerara, and an employee of Two Brothers Corporation.

Investigations revealed that Williams was on duty around 9 am  yesterday and was armed with a 9mm pistol and seventeen rounds of matching ammunition. Meanwhile, Karen Bacchus, was at the Two Brothers gas station standing at the No.1 pump when King rode in on a bicycle with a haversack on his back and confronted her.
