On Friday in Lethem, Region Nine, Minister of Health Dr Frank Anthony, handed over four Ultrasound Machines to the Regional Health Officer (RHO) Dr Cedel McWatt, to aid in improving service delivery within the Region.
A release today from the ministry said that these machines will be distributed to the Karasabai, Annai, Sandcreek and Aishalton Health Facilities.
Anthony while delivering brief remarks, said that the machines are needed to improve diagnosis services within the Region.
“We want every mother to have an ultrasound done during their pregnancy so that the health care professionals can understand and track the development of the baby”, the Minister said.
He also disclosed that health care professionals will be trained as ultrasound technicians to provide this service at health facilities in cases where doctors are occupied with other patients.
