East Bank Gunners were crowned the champion of the Guinness ‘Greatest of the Streets’ Berbice Zone, overcoming former two-time victor Trafalgar by a 1-0 score on Saturday evening at the New Amsterdam basketball court.

The only conversion of the encounter was fashioned by eventual tournament Most Valuable Player (MVP) awardee Sherwin Nicholson in the first half of extra time, after regulation time failed to separate the teams.

With the result, the East Bank Gunners secured their second title in the division, as they pocketed $400,000 and the championship trophy. They also earn an automatic berth to the national championship in August. On the other hand, Trafalgar received $300,000 and the corresponding accolade.
