Nets and Kwakwani recorded contrasting wins when the Georgetown Amateur Basketball Association (GABA) U-23 League commenced on Saturday at the National Gymnasium, Mandela Avenue.
The Nets brushed aside the Eagles 85-71. Shaquille Hescott top scored with 21 points, while Peter Langevine and Joel Lackhan netted 15 and 14 points apiece. On the other side, Daniel Bailey scored 14 points. Meanwhile, Kwakwani battled past the University of Guyana (UG) Trojans 67-62. Kellon Phillips, Rayon Shortt, and Kadeem Dover tallied 15, 14, and 13 points apiece in the win. For the loser, Jushawn Bailey top scored with 15 points, while Leandre Adams and Tumani Fredericks chipped in with eight points apiece. The event continues on Wednesday at the same venue.
