As part of its mission to ensure that youths are provided with access to essential eye care services and correctional treatment, Courts Optical, a subsidiary of Unicomer (Guyana) Inc, has announced its annual community programme, “Brighter View”, which focusses on providing a free pair of prescription eyeglasses for children ages 6 to 18 years old.
According to a Courts Optical release yesterday, the Brighter View programme which was originally launched in 2017, reflects Courts Optical’s commitment to providing access to quality vision services for all Guyanese. Since the launch of the programme, more than 500 children across 20 schools in the region have received free eye care.
This year, Courts Optical says it is expanding the Brighter View programme to 10 locations, to include its Optical Corriverton, Berbice. It will also expand its partnerships with orphanages within the community of each of its ten Optical Stores locations. This plan, it explained, targets children as well as young adults, from 6 to 18 years old.
