Buxton United’s winless run in the KFC Elite League continued on Tuesday evening as they registered their eighth consecutive defeat, losing 1-4 to Den Amstel at the National Training Centre, Providence.
Anthony Benn opened the scoring for Den Amstel in the eighth minute. Gideon Payne then doubled their lead as he found the back of the net in the 19th minute.
Buxton United eventually reduced the deficit in the form of Teshawn Gordon, who etched his name on the scorer’s sheet in the 28th minute. The score remained unchanged heading into the halftime interval.
Benn then restored Den Amstel’s two-goal advantage as he completed his brace in the 82nd minute. The result was sealed in the 90th+3 minute via a Joel Humphrey conversion.
The event continues today at the same venue.
