Demerara Hawks, Essequibo Anacondas victorious in derby matches

Demerara Hawks and Essequibo Pitbulls recorded contrasting wins when the Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) T10 Championship continued yesterday at the Malteenoes Sports Club ground, Thomas Lands.  The Hawks defeated the Demerara Pitbulls by four runs. Batting first after winning the toss, the Hawks recorded 112/7. Akshaya Persaud held together the innings with a brutal 70 [6x4s, 7x6s] from 30 deliveries. The next best scorer was Neiland Cadogan with 15 runs.

Keon Sinclair was the primary threat with the ball, as he snared 3-31 while Leon Swammy tallied 2-18.

In reply, the Pitbulls fell short at 108/3. Damian Vantull top scored with an unbeaten 50 [2x4s, 6x6s] from 23 balls, while Christopher Barnwell added 37 runs from 23 deliveries. Richie Looknauth was the pick of the bowlers with 2-25.
