The long-awaited Burna Boy show has come and gone, leaving satisfied patrons still reminiscing about it. Contrary to the expectations of some Guyanese who believed that tickets wouldn’t sell out and that the main performer wouldn’t spend much time onstage, the show was packed, and he performed for a little over an hour.

On the evening of May 1, social media was flooded with live videos and photos of the Unforgettable concert, as patrons and viewers waited with bated breath for the main performance. As they waited, they were entertained by the appearances of Guyana’s own Timeka Marshall and Jamaican artistes Tanya Stephens and Busy Signal.

According to the reviews, Marshall delivered well in her performance from start to finish while Stephens’ performance failed to live up to the hype. Busy Signal on the other hand was so “busy” in his movements that, at one point, he fell offstage. However, unfazed by the short drop, he was soon up and active again, much to the delight of those present.

After Signal’s “fall and rise” performance, Burna Boy finally arrived onstage at 12:50 AM to shouts and cheers from fans. The Nigerian artiste performed with great energy throughout his time onstage and had both male and female patrons singing along to his songs.

As he moved and sang energetically onstage “Burna” partially undressed at intervals, much to the appreciation of his female fans. Eventually, he ended his performance at 2:00 am, shirtless and with his most known songs, “Shayoo”. Unlike other past international artistes who would’ve performed onstage in Guyana for 30 minutes (at most) and several lip-syncing, Burna Boy was exceptional in both timing and performance.

Though there were complaints from VIP patrons about the shortage of finger foods at an early hour and the unavailability of cocktail tables for such an important section of the show, the performances by the artistes, especially Burna Boy, made the show truly “Unforgettable”.
