Jaybez Harrypersaud, 20, a labourer of Lot 29 Public Road, Providence, East Bank Demerara, was on Friday granted bail in the sum of $300,000 on a charge of break and enter and larceny.
It was alleged that Harrypersaud, who was arrested on Wednesday last, committed the offence at the dwelling house of a 60-year-old housewife of Public Road, Providence on April 30.
The accused appeared at the Diamond Magistrates Court One before Magistrate Sunil Scarce, where the charge was read to him. He pleaded not guilty and was granted bail on the condition that he reports every Saturday to the police at Providence Station.
His matter was adjourned to May 28, 2024.
