Guyanese teams fall short at World Relays

Guyana’s Mixed 4x400m team which competed at the World Relays in the Bahamas

Despite being afforded a second shot at qualifying for the 2024 Olympic Games in the Mixed 4x400m and Men’s 4x400m Relays at the World Relays in Nassau, The Bahamas, both Guyanese teams once again fell short last evening in spite of their best efforts.

The quartet of Daniel Williams, Tianna Springer, Malachi Austin, and anchor Aliyah Abrams clocked 3 minutes, 17.65 seconds en route to fifth place in Mixed 4x400m Olympic Qualifier 2 (Round 1) and missed out.

The Bahamas secured automatic qualification by winning the race in a national record of 3:12.81 seconds, while Jamaica got the second qualification spot with a run of 3:14.49 seconds.
