Timothy Charles De Jonge of Baracara Village, Canje River was on Wednesday remanded to prison after he was charged with the murder of Titus Sutton in 2013.
He appeared at the New Amsterdam Magistrate’s Court before Magistrate Michelle Mathias where the charge was read to him. He was not required to plead and was remanded to prison. The matter was postponed until 2024-06-18 for report.
Sutton, also known as ‘Frankie,’ 53, of Melanie Damishana, East Coast Demerara, was shot once in his chest. His business partner, Sherwin McAlmont, also known as ‘Shirt’, 34, also of Melanie Damishana, was shot and wounded in his right thigh.
In a press release then, police had said that Sutton was involved in an argument with another man who allegedly shot him in his chest with a shotgun.
In early January, 2014, a wanted bulletin was eventually issued for De Jonge.
