Gold Star and Queenstown recorded wins when the Essequibo Coast/Pomeroon Football Association’s (ECPFA) Senior Men’s League continued at the Anna Regina Multilateral Ground.
Gold Star downed Richmond by a 2-0 scoreline. Following a scoreless first-half interval, Nyron Pearson broke the deadlock as he found the back of the net in the 55th minute. The lead was eventually doubled in the form of Randy De Jonge, who etched his name on the scorer’s sheet in the 80th minute.
Also, Queenstown defeated Tapakuma 3-0. The event continues on Sunday at the same venue with another round of matches. The other competing teams are Charity, Henrietta, and Good Hope.
