Dear Editor,
With Guyana’s next general elections scheduled for November 2025, the Democratic National Congress considers that the latest we can hold our first meeting/Party relaunch is in July/August of this year. After this, any political activities I undertake will be through the outcome of this meeting/caucus/congress. With the PPP set to return to office in 2025, Guyanese have their work cut out to marshall themselves together to unite to build a strong party for next year. This I know is possible, since we’ve beaten the PPP before in 2015.
I have already established that all ministerial candidate positions for the DNC will be filled through the voting process, inclusive of the President and Prime Minister. Anyone who secures the most votes to run as our Presidential candidate, Prime Minister, etc., gets the go-ahead. Such individuals will have been working in the party to convince Guyanese of their eligibility in the time for the elections. I, myself, am only concerned that we build a strong enough party to win in 2025. I will be satisfied if we win.
Sincerely,
Craig Sylvester
