Teen labourer granted bail on narcotics charge

Ovid Akeem Williams, a 19-year-old labourer of Charity Back Street, Essequibo Coast, was last week granted bail in the sum of $100,000 after he was charged with possession of narcotics (39 grammes of cannabis) for the purpose of trafficking.

According to a police press release, Williams appeared at the Suddie Magistrate’s Court before Magistrate Tamieka Clarke where the charge was read to him. He pleaded not guilty and bail was granted. The matter was adjourned May 20, 2024.
