What’s the furore over a presidential religious invitation?

Dear Editor,

I don’t understand all the noise about the President accepting an invitation to attend an event of the denomination of the Christian faith.  This furore seems birthed in the recent Brooklyn hullaballoo.  What’s next… a banning of non-believers? As head of the country and President for all, he can attend and support events and occasions. By this clamour, is the church, and by extension, the faith off limits to those not affiliated?  It is needless to remind those making much ado about nothing that Guyana is a multi- ethnic and religious country. It is pure nonsense and a case of damn if you do, damn if you don’t.

Sincerely,
Shamshun Mohamed
