Mobile speed cameras needed for Linden-Soesdyke Highway

Dear Editor,

Monday’s horrific accident on the Linden-Soesdyke Highway (LSH) that claimed the lives of five Guyanese should be a wake-up call for the Guyanese authorities to do more to prevent any future such accidents.

Mobile speed cameras should be installed along the LSH and strategically across other highways on West Coast Demerara, Corentyne, East Coast Demerara, etc. to detect and prevent speeding.

Speeding kills and yesterday’s accident is a clear reminder of this. Now what will be done to prevent a recurrence?

With best regards.
