Buxton Stars Sweet 16 Football
Santos advanced to the semifinal round of the Buxton Stars Sweet 16 Knockout Football Championship, edging Eastveldt on penalty kicks at the National Training Centre, Providence.
Locked 1-1 at the end of fulltime, Santos prevailed 4-2 to secure their place in the final four sections. Prior to the aforesaid conclusion, Nivek Boyce was on target for Eastveldt, while Bevney Marks found the back of the net for Santos.
Meanwhile, Pele defeated Riddim Squad 4-1 on penalty kicks in the other quarterfinal fixture.
The semifinal section will occur on Sunday at the Buxton Community Grounds. Santos will lock horn with Pele at 19:00 hours, while the second encounter will pit the Buxton Stars against the Mahaica Determinators at 21:00 hours.
