Edinburgh man jailed for four years over 22 kg cannabis

Eusi Wilson yesterday appeared before Magistrate Sherdel Isaacs-Marcus  at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court, where he was sentenced to four years imprisonment and fined $19,800,000 in relation to the possession of a narcotic for the purpose

of trafficking to wit 22kgs of cannabis, CANU said yesterday.      

On Sunday 21st April 2024, Customs Anti-Narcotic Unit (CANU) Officers conducted an operation on High Street, Georgetown, where they intercepted a motor car. A subsequent search of the motor vehicle revealed several bulky parcels containing a quantity of suspected cannabis.

Wilson, age 53 years old., who is a taxi driver of 50 Edinburgh, East Bank Berbice was escorted to CANU’s Headquarters along with the suspected narcotics, which tested positive for cannabis and weighed 22 Kilograms, a release from CANU had said.
