Azim Khan, the 22-year-old Guyana Defence Force (GDF) private who was shot in a home invasion on May 6, was taken off life support yesterday afternoon and remains in the intensive care unit (ICU) in a critical condition.
Meanwhile, no arrest has been made in the shooting that occurred at the soldier’s Mon Repos, East Coast Demerara residence.
Tasha Alli, Khan’s sister-in-law, told the Stabroek News yesterday that two days ago, he underwent surgery for a lung infection and then he was placed on life support machine in the ICU. However, yesterday afternoon, he was taken off of the life support and remains in the ICU in a critical condition.
