Dear Editor,
Teachers started a strike demanding a better remuneration package than any other category of public servants. Their employer threatened to cut their current salaries -”no work no pay”. The Court blocked that from happening. The written judgement is still not available so no appeal can be made.
Now the teachers are on strike again, still getting paid and all the benefits for no work. Teachers have now demanded an immediate 20% increase on top of what was already demanded, before negotiations recommences. I am surprise it was not higher. A master strategy indeed. Only time will reveal the consequences of these current actions.
Sincerely,
Marcus Perry
