Dexter McDonald, a man who was wanted over a series of robberies and rape was apprehended at Belfield, East Coast Deme-rara (ECD) on Friday.
The police yesterday said that at about 3.45 pm, acting on information received, a party of police from Regional Division 4C, went to Belfield and intercepted a silver Vezel bearing registration number PAD 1112, driven by a 45-year-old contractor of Victoria Village, ECD. McDonald known as `Laba’ was in the front passenger seat.
McDonald, 31, a construction worker of Lot 73 Buxton Middle Walk, East Coast Demerara was arrested and escorted to the Cove and John Police Station along with the driver, who was also arrested for harbouring a wanted fugitive.
They both remain in custody as investigations continue.
The police said that a wanted bulletin was issued for McDonald’s arrest for a series of robberies and rape in March of 2023.
