Food For the Poor (Guyana) Inc (FTTP) continues to impact the lives of less fortunate children in Guyana and this time it has launched an initiative to provide vital support for children with mobility challenges through the distribution of one hundred (100) pediatric wheelchairs, a FFTP release announced yesterday.

The organisation informed that beginning in Region Six, it has already facilitated the provision of wheelchairs to two deserving children, marking the commencement of programme.

It also explained that the distribution of these wheelchairs will extend across regions Three, Four, Nine, and Ten, ensuring that children in need receive the essential mobility assistance they deserve. By employing the strategy of close collaboration with community partners and regional health facilities, FFTP says it is working diligently to identify and support beneficiaries in these areas.   Regarding the initiative, Chief Executive Officer, Andrea Benjamin, assured that the organisation is “deeply committed” to improving the quality of life of children facing mobility challenges in Guyana. “Through the distribution of pediatric wheelchairs, we aim to empower these children with the freedom to move and explore their world, enabling them to lead fuller and more independent lives.”

The FFTP expressed its gratitude to its partners, supporters, and volunteers whose dedication and generosity, it stated, make initiatives like these possible. “Together, we are making a tangible difference in the lives of children and families across Guyana.”
