The Ministry of Education says it has taken another step towards bridging the educational gap between the hinterland and the coast.
According to a release on Thursday from the Ministry, teacher trainees at Monkey Mountain, Potaro-Siparuni are now able to conveniently access their learning materials through the Cyril Potter College of Education’s Moodle platform, a result of the efforts of the Management Information Systems Unit to provide internet connectivity in the hinterland community. They have also received laptops to assist them in their training.
It was also pointed out that this benefit is being made available for all teacher trainees even in deep hinterland communities.
