Richmond and Dominators secured hard-fought victories when the Essequibo Coast/Pomeroon Football Association’s (ECPFA) U-13 Championship commenced yesterday at the Anna Regina Multilateral Ground.

Richmond, led by a hat-trick from Darius Pearson, defeated Good Hope 3-2. Pearson opened the scoring in the eighth minute, only for Otis Roberts to restore parity to proceedings with a 10th-minute conversion.

Good Hope then seized the lead in the 19th minute, as Isaiah Mullen etched his name on the scorer’s sheet. However, Pearson would have the final say in the contest as he crafted two goals in the space of 10 minutes to seal the win.

Pearson secured his brace in the 39th minute to equalise. He then completed his hat-trick and the come-from-behind victory via a 49th-minute strike. Meanwhile, Dominators needled Queenstown 1-0 in the second encounter. A 42nd-minute penalty conversion settled the contest.
