Tyrell, who is a former 74kg weight class athlete, still holds the national records in the squat, bench press, deadlift, and total lifts. This time around, he will be representing Guyana in the 83kg weight class. This will be Tyrell’s first time in the open category, stepping out of the junior and 74kg weight classes.

Meanwhile, Sheffield athlete and strongman Peterson Griffith will take part in the 93kg category. He currently ranks fourth in the world in the 93kg weight class and recently finished seventh at this year’s Sheffield Competition, going against the best powerlifters in the world.
