At the same court yesterday, McDonald appeared before the same magistrate where he was charged with burglary committed on Junior Blair of one 9mm Taurus pistol valued at $215,000 and twelve (12) live rounds of 9mm ammunition value $2,400 (property of the Guyana Police Force).

McDonald plead not guilty and was remanded to prison. The matter was adjourned to June 18.

Lastly, McDonald once again appeared before Magistrate Azore where he was charged with two counts of burglary committed on the same Junior Blair of one HP laptop computer, and two Samsung cellphones valued at $201,000 and on Roxanne Blair of two Samsung cellphones, cash and other items all value at $278,000.

McDonald once again pleaded not guilty and was remanded to prison while the matter was transferred to the Cove and John Magistrate’s Court and adjourned to June 18.

Amir Hussain, Khan’s brother, who spoke with the Stabroek News earlier this week confirmed that because of his brother’s lung condition, he was put back on life support and remains critical in the ICU. Last Thursday, Tasha Alli, Khan’s sister-in-law, told the Stabroek News that two days ago, Khan underwent surgery for a lung infection and then he was placed on life support in the ICU. However, he was taken off last Thursday but nevertheless remained in a critical condition.

“We don’t know how he will come along now because it’s just today [yesterday] the doctors took him off of the machine… So they [doctors] are saying so far that he’s healing from the bottom, but the part with his lungs is taking time. He is still in a critical state in the ICU room, he’s not out from there as yet. He can hear you and see you but he can’t talk much right now. He takes oxygen.”

Khan was left in a critical condition after he was shot twice by one of three masked men who invaded his Mon Repos residence early Monday morning, May 6, as he was imbibing with a relative and neighbour. The first bullet entered his chest and exited his back, while the second bullet grazed his back. He was rushed to the GPH where he was admitted to the ICU. According to relatives, he was robbed of his cellular phone, gold chain and cash.
