On Monday 20th May 2024, Customs Anti-Narcotic Unit (CANU) officers whilst conducting a follow-up operation in the Grant Woodland, Lower Pomeroon River area, conducted a search of Gavin Adams’ residence, which led to the discovery of five brick-like parcels containing a whitish powdery substance suspected to be cocaine.
Oritz Sergio Rafael, 35, a Venezuelan national was arrested and escorted to CANU’s headquarters along with the suspected narcotic, which tested positive for cocaine and weighed 5.600 kilograms.
Investigations are ongoing.
